We would like to recognize Patrick McCaffrey as our January athlete of the month. You can catch Patrick bustin a move in the morning classes with a giant smile on his face. Patrick is an inspiration to to most showing everyone that age is just a number and he is here to put in work and have a lot of fun doing it. Here is what he had to say when we asked him a few questions:
1. How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I’ve been doing CrossFit for 6 years.
2. Class time?
I have been going to 6:30am class for a few months now. On the weekend I do 8:00am on Saturday and Comp train on Sunday.
3. What made you start doing CrossFit?
I stared CrossFit when my wife bought a Groupon. It was going to expire and I was too cheap to lose the money.
4. Favorite CrossFit movement?
My favorite movement is the power clean.
5. Least favorite movement?
My least favorite movement is the over head squat and full depth anything 😊
6. If you could design a CrossFit WOD, what would it be?
If I designed a WOD it would be a 20 min AMRAP with power cleans, pull-ups, kettle bell swings and push-ups.
7. Hobbies outside of CrossFit?
CrossFit is my hobby.
8. Tell us something most people don’t know about you
I am a former member of the screen actors guild and have several national tv commercials in my credits. I also have four children and three grandchildren.
9. What was your first CrossFit WOD?
I think my first CrossFit benchmark WOD was Fran at 9-10 minutes.
10. Biggest effect CrossFit has has on your life?
The biggest affect CrossFit has had on my life is that for the first time in my life I have achieved my fitness goals and I look forward to going to the gym … most of the time.
